Is there any scientific proof that mobile phones do interfere with any hospital equipment?

1. I don't know about the equipment, but I can see that they could interfere with the staff doing their jobs. And they are generally annoying in any place where you have a lot of people in a small space (ER waiting room). That alone is sufficient cause to ban them, and if they need to resort to a technical excuse to explain it to people, so be it.
