Sterilisers

Hi I was wondering what the difference between an autoclave and a ultrasonic sterilizer is?

and was just wondering if you require both for tattoo equipment

1. An autoclave sterilizes through steam and pressure. An ultrasonic CLEANER only cleans, preparing things to go into the autoclave.
2. yes well the ultrasonic you use after you have disinfected your equipment and you put it in the autoclave to sterilize it. it should be sterile in a bag with black lettering on it to actually be sterile. don't think it is required in tat shops, but a good shop would make their equipment is sterile to protect you from Hep C, HIV, etc.
